Bird box was a great movie in my opinion and gained a lot of popularity on social media when it was first released in November of 2018. Sandra Bullock stars in the movie as a modern painter and mother of an unborn baby. Her name is Malorie and she is braver than you think.

Reports came out that mass suicides were occurring in Russia for no reason. People in America assumed they were safe, including Malorie and her sister. Malorie is very close with her sister who accompanies her on her scheduled checkup at the hospital. While on their way out of the hospital everyone starts committing suicide and chaos erupts. Malorie gets to safety but her sister wasn’t that lucky. Malorie finds shelter in a wealthy man’s house names Douglass. He is not too fond of having new housemates. The group of survivors finds out that the only way to survive is by not looking outside.

Bird Box is a Netflix movie that gained a lot of popularity on social media right when it came out. It was released November 12, 2018, and starred Sandra Bullock. It is classified as a Drama/Thriller, however, it could be a horror movie.

“The movie was actually kind of scary, but it was good,” said Ethan

It received a 63% on rotten tomatoes and it was viewed on 45 million accounts on Netflix in the first 7 days. Considering movie theater tickets are $9 per ticket, Bird Box could have grossed $411 million. That is $21 million more than “The Force Awakens”.

“That’s crazy! I had no idea it was that popular” said George Steiger.

This just shows how good this movie really was. These numbers don’t even recognize rewatches. Personally, I watched the movie 3 times. The movie was very scary in my opinion and Sandra Bullock was amazing. If you like scary movies that make your heart pump all the way to the end then you should watch Bird Box now.
